FR Students Of The Month

Arica Carbaugh Arica Carbaugh Arica Carbaugh, a seventh grader at Forbes Road High School, has been named junior high Student of the Month for December by the high school faculty. Students are selected by their teachers based on attendance, grades, citizenship and being a positive leader in the classroom.

Arica is a member of the junior high Lady Cardinals basketball team, student council, and will join the track team in the spring. She says that pre-algebra is her favorite class. Her teacher, Mr. Horton says, “Arica is just an all around great student. She participates in class, is always prepared, asks questions, and always seems willing to help other students. She demonstrates great leadership skills and shows a high level of responsibility both in her classroom behavior and academic requirements.”

Arica’s parents are Leon Carbaugh and Dodie Carbaugh and she has two older brothers. In her spare time, she enjoys playing basketball, running and hanging out with her friends. Arica competed in the Hershey Track Marathon, where she placed first in the 200-meter dash. She also attended Camp Cadet, where she was chosen as Outstanding Cadet, as well as the triathlon winner. Arica’s plans for the future are to be a registered or surgical nurse.

Kelly Keeseman Kelly Keeseman Kelly Keeseman, a junior at Forbes Road High School, has been named senior high Student of the Month for December by the high school faculty. Students are selected by their teachers based on attendance, grades, citizenship and being a positive leader in the classroom.

Kelly is a member of student council and was a Rydell High cheerleader last year in our first musical, “Grease.” She is enrolled in the academic curriculum and says that allied health and phys ed are her favorite classes. Her teacher, Mrs. Mellott, says, “Kelly is a great student to have in class; she is dedicated, hardworking, and motivated. She is looking forward to working with patients in the clinical rotation of her nursing assistant classes this year.”

Kelly’s parents are Rick and Penny Keeseman and she has seven siblings. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, taking walks and cooking. She is in her second year of allied health and is involved with a program that will certify her to be a CNA by the end of the year. Her plans for the future are to become a registered nurse.

When a student is named Student of the Month by the faculty, it is in recognition of a promising young person who shows strength and character in their daily school life. Kelly has impressed her teachers as being a good example of these students.
