Chalmer and Patsy Mellott hosted family and friends on Saturday evening for their annual Christmas party.

Anniversary wishes to Tom and Kay Cromwell, Alton and Treva Madden, and Andy and Kara Park.

Get well wishes to Dick and Jessie Rhoades, Jim Barlow, Bob Hoffman, Junior Heaster, Jane Brown, Sharynn Book and Mary Mort.

Last Saturday evening a Christmas celebration was held in Huntingdon by John and Carol Puskarich. Unfortunately the hosts were unable to attend due to illness. Those attending were Gordon and Donna Locke, Ruth Grissinger, Jude and Marybeth Harrington, Jim and Lori Lupey, and Tamsen Anders.

Visiting last Monday evening with Steve and Karen Grissinger and family were Gary, Donna, Cassie and Caleigh Clark. The little girls enjoyed some cookie baking and decorating and even some nibbling. This is where you say, “a great time was had by all.”

On Sunday evening, Immanuel Bible Church held its annual Christmas program with a musical by the Children’s Church Department, “Star of Wonder.” The Christmas Monks also gave an outstanding performance.

A special thank-you is extended to those who visited and helped with the Angel Wings Christmas Bazaar. Holiday prayers and blessings go out to all those who contributed to the organization, which was able to help more than 20 families this past year.

Visiting recently with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Travis and Tristen Hall, Bob Hoffman, Brent Carlson, Ramon Martin, Travis Madden and Donna Locke.

On Saturday, Maddison Wible and Terri and Tammy Grissinger attended Zumba class at Shade Gap and finished their day with Christmas shopping in Altoona.

Walnut Grove Church of God Senior Youth Group held its annual Christmas party last Sunday evening and finished it with caroling and delivery of fruit baskets.

Brian and Micah Ramsey visited with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Saturday.

Nineteen folks from Walnut Grove Church of God traveled last Sunday to the Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill for the presentation of “A Little Boy’s Prayer.” The group enjoyed lunch at Fire Mountain on their way.

Christmas Eve services will be held at Immanuel Bible Church beginning at 6 p.m.

Christmas Eve candlelight services will be held at the Walnut Grove Church of God beginning at 7 p.m.

Mark your calendars for pesticide update trainings for 2011. Southern Huntingdon County High School will host its meeting on January 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be pesticide update meetings held at the Huntingdon County Extension Office on February 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on February 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.
