Three-Vehicle Collision Investigated
Pennsylvania State Police from the McConnellsburg substation investigated a three-vehicle collision at a school bus stop along Route 655 on Thursday, December 2.
According to reports, a 1992 Ford F-350 driven by Matthew W. St. Clair, 37, of Warfordsburg was rear-ended by a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Zachary E. Swope, 19, from Needmore, while at a bus stop in Belfast Township. The impact caused St. Clair’s truck to be pushed into the rear of a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Andrew T. Swope, 51, also of Warfordsburg.
Only Andrew Swope was not using a seat belt during the 7:20 a.m. accident. All three drivers and St. Clair’s passenger, John E. Edwards, 41, of Warfordsburg, escaped injury. Zachary Swope will be cited for careless driving and following too closely.
