FR Students Of The Month
Lara Cromer, a freshmen at Forbes Road High School has been named Student of the Month for November by the high school faculty. Students are selected by their teachers based on attendance, grades, citizenship and being a positive leader in the classroom.
Lara is a member of the Lady Cardinals basketball team and plays field hockey and softball as well. She is in student council and serves as secretary of her class. She is enrolled in the academic curriculum and says that Algebra II is her favorite class. Her teacher, Mrs. Vollbrecht, says, “Lara gives her full effort in everything she does. She is inquisitive and conscientious. She grasps material very quickly and retains it well. She is also an outstanding peer tutor and is always willing to help anyone in need.”
Lara’s parents are Tim and Tammie Cromer, and she has an older brother and sister. In her spare time she enjoys playing sports. Lara’s plans for the future are to be an elementary teacher.
Donovan Bricker, a senior at Forbes Road High School, has been named senior high Student of the Month for November by the high school faculty. Students are selected by their teachers based on attendance, grades, citizenship and being a positive leader in the classroom.
Donovan is a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Club and SADD. He also plays on the Cardinal basketball team as well as the soccer and baseball teams. He is enrolled in the academic curriculum and says that POD and phys. ed. are his favorite classes. His teacher, Mr. Cutchall says, “Donnie is a very dedicated and motivated student. He excels in the classroom and demonstrates leadership characteristics inside and outside of the school. His work ethic is excellent as it has been shown in the projects that he has completed. Donnie is a very worthy choice to be Forbes Road’s student of the month.”
Donovan has also been named to the first team Sideling Hill League 2009, honorable mention for the first team Sideling Hill League 2010, Public Opinion Second Team 2009 and Central PA Scholastic Soccer All Star Game, all in soccer.
Donovan’s parents are Theresa Bricker and Kevin Bricker, and he has two brothers. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, and he’s involved in THE Freedom Worship Center Youth Group. Donovan’s plans for the future are to attend Penn Tech in the fall majoring in aviation mechanics.
When a student is named Student of the Month by the faculty, it is in recognition of a promising young person who shows strength and character in their daily school life. Donovan has impressed his teachers as being a good example of these students.
