The first snowfall came unexpectedly on Friday.

A fifth birthday party was held on Sunday for Riley Dale Shafer in the home of his parents, Brian and Erin Shafer. His birthday was December 14. He has a younger sister, McKayley. Grandparents and other relatives attended.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Walter Rhodes, husband of Edith Barnett Rhodes; Sally Boswell, daughter of Nancy Lemley, and Eileen Christian Angle of Utah and formerly of here, daughter of Betty Christian, who all passed away last week, and also the family of Caundell Ward, who passed away last Wednesday.

Pastor and Lindsay Martin held an open house on Friday night at their newly purchased home on North Third Street. The evening was an enjoyable one.

McConnellsburg Christmas choral concert was performed last Wednesday night to a full house. The music was very uplifting and under the direction of Mr. Strine, who did a wonderful job with the students. District chorus students are Caitlin Glazier, Dakota Deneen, Emily Wenschhof, Cole Johnston and David Mellott.

Siloam United Methodist Church held its annual Christmas play on Sunday, December 12.

Jackie Doyle, a long-term care resident of Fulton County Medical Center, is now a patient in Chambersburg Hospital after breaking her hip.

FOVA held its annual Christmas party for members and guests on Saturday evening.

G&P Distributors held its annual Christmas party on Friday night in Hancock American Legion Home.

Rueben Knepper celebrated his fourth birthday with a party in the home of his parents, Craig and Jen Knepper, on Sunday with grandparents and other relatives attending. His birthday date is December 20.

Knobsville Church of the Brethren held its annual Christmas dinner on Saturday evening. Sarah Smith had the misfortune of falling at the church, but is now at home with some bruises.
