Walter C. Good

Walter Charles Good, 66, Hagerstown, died Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Washington County Hospital. He had been a resident of NMS Healthcare of Hagerstown for the last eight months.

Born September 4, 1944, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Walter J.T. Good and Genevieve Semiler Good.

He was a 1963 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, where he played on the varsity football team.

He owned and operated Good’s Gardens and Greenhouses, and did landscaping and lawn seeding for more than 45 years.

He was a member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren and served on the board of directors of the once Chewsville Coop Association.

He loved his family and treasured his friends with whom he loved to hunt and fish with over the years.

Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Bachtell Good, whom he married November 15, 1965; daughter Suzanne M. Good and fiance Carl F. Adams, Needmore; sons: David W. Good and wife Nona, Williamsport, Md., and Matthew B. Good and wife Shante, Hagerstown; sister Peggy M. Snyder and husband Ronnie, Hagerstown; grandsons: David J. Good, Hagerstown, and Kayton C. Good, Williamsport; granddaughter Emily Rose Hegedus, Boonsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 18, at 11:00 a.m., at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren. Pastor Rachel Black and Pastor David Eberly will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Md., was in charge of arrangements.
