Sunday evening dinner guests in the home of Herbert and Tammy Berkstresser and Aaron were Herbert and Tabitha Berkstresser and children of McConnellsburg and Kate Berkstresser.

Some of the folks from the Knobsville United Methodist church visited with the folks at Leisure Living on Sunday afternoon.

Everyone is reminded that the shooting matches at Hustontown Firehall will be postponed until Saturday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m.

Santa Claus will be at the firehall on Friday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m. with treats for children 12 years and under from Forbes Road School District.

The fire company will also sponsor an open stage on Saturday, December 18, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free and the facility is smoke-free. Come and share talent or just come and enjoy the talents of others. A good time is had by all.

Remember to mark calendars for January 1. A hog shoot will be held at the Hustontown Firehall at 1:00 p.m. The firemen really do appreciate your support so they can better serve you.

Belated happy birthday wishes to David Boyer, December 5; Herbert Berkstresser, December 6; and Haley Peck, December 12.

Household hint: Crisp up the crackers. Dont’ throw out slightly stale crackers or cereal. Spread them one layer deep on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven to heat for a few minutes. The crispy texture will return; or use stale crackers in meatloaf or filler for salmon cakes, etc.
