MHS To Present Christmas Concert

The music department of Central Fulton School District announces its annual Christmas choral concert to be held on Wednesday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will feature both senior and middle school choirs plus a solo and several duets. A mixture of familiar tunes, old pieces and a few new selections will brighten up your evening. Junior Cole Johnston will open the concert with a version of an old chant, “O Magnum Mysterium.” Duets will be feature eighth-graders Abby Peck and Hannah Ott singing “Wondrous Star.” and tenth-grader Caitlin Glazier and senior Emily Wenschhof performing “The Coventry Carol.” Other soloists throughout the program include: Michaela Harrison (8th ), Katelynn Mellott (9th), Dakota Deneen (11th), Emily Watkins (11th), Gabrielle McGarvey (12th), David Mellott (12th) and Emily Wenschhof (12th). Both choirs will perform “African Noel.”

The middle choir will perform the following pieces: “Ring the Bells,” “Carol of the Shepherd Children,” “Born Neath a Star,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Catch the Christmas Spirit,” and “It’s Christmastime.” The senior chorus will feature the following songs: “Joseph Dearest Joseph Mine,” “What Child Is This,” “Emmanuel,” “We Sing Noel,” “Calypso Carol,” “On A Cold Decermber Night,” “Sleigh Ride” (original version), and “Keeping Holy Vigil.”

The choirs will alternate, so the song lineup is not the actual program listing. Please come and enjoy an evening of great music and cheer, and please come to support the music program at MHS.
