Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with all the turkey and great meals. Now the hunters are out hunting for those bucks with a nice trophy rack. We hope they all are lucky. Some folks are up north in the state hunting.

Thanksgiving dinner guests with Harvey and Pat Berkstresser were Shawn, Jackie and Ryan Berkstresser of Slippery Rock, Lloyd Covert and Kate Berkstresser.

Guest speaker Stephen Gallagher will be at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Stephen is home visiting his parents, John and Edith Gallaher of Clear Ridge.

Caitlin Black celebrated her 21st birthday on Wednesday, December 1.

Household hint: Keep your septic tank in its best condition. Give the tank a weekly cup of baking soda by flushing it down the toilet. This should keep its pH in balance so everything works as it should.

Intended for last week

The weekend weather was great. We hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy it.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of David Grove, who was killed while he was on work duty as a game warden.

Belated happy birthday to Jeff Berkstresser on November 21 and Jerry Berkstresser on November 24. Also belated happy birthday wishes to John Peck on November 18 and Michael Helman on November 18.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jusack had the pleasure of both of of their sons being home for a few days visits.

It was good to see a nice crowd at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday. Church services start at 8:30 a.m., so you go to church and still have the rest of the Sunday for whatever you wish to enjoy, such as visiting a sick friend or family or whatever.

Sorry to hear John Gallaher has pneumonia. We send get well wises to him.

Household hint: Slick snow removal. To make snow shoveling easier coat your snow shovel with car wax. Snow slides off much easier. If you don’t have any wax handy, nonstick cooking spray will work.
