Last Open Mic Night For 2010 A Success

On Saturday, November 13, the Warfordsburg Senior Citizens building overflowed with an audience of all ages. Many fellowshipped with friends and family. Numerous ones described it as an evening of socializing, inspiring music and delicious foods.

Catherine Beatty read a Thanksgiving poem and entertained the audience with various songs. Instrumentals were a favorite, along with vocals including, “How Great Thou Art” by Terri Betts, with an audience singalong. Vernelda Jay accompanied herself on the keyboard while singing a favorite, “There Is No Place Like Home For Christmas.”

Participants on the stage were Catherine Beatty, Floyd Palmer, Richard Duley, Robert Burton, Terri and Ray Betts, Jack Wink and Vernelda Jay. Marie Trail won the basket of homemade items prepared by the women of Whips Cove Church. As the echoes of “Church in the Valley” rang throughout the building, the audience mingled and conversed the previous months of enjoyment at open mic night. The next mic night will not be until January 8, 2011.
