M. Alvera Divelbliss

M. Alvera Divelbliss, 82, Crystal Spring, died Friday, November 19, 2010, with her family at her side.

She was born October 6, 1928, at her family home in Akersville, a daughter of the late Jasper B. Wilkins and Estella B. (Shaffer) Wilkins.

On June 1, 1950, at the East King Street United Church of the Brethren in Chambersburg, she married Herbert E. Divelbliss, who survives along with their children, Roger Divelbliss, and wife Janine, of Gibsonville, N.C.; Rodney Divelbliss and wife Patricia (Peck) Divelbliss, of Crystal Spring; Rex Divelbliss, and fiancé Donna (Stevens) Hull, of Hancock, Md.; a sister, Marjorie Steele, of Shelby Township, Mich.; five grandchildren: Shawn Divelbliss, and wife Ella; Rodawn Divelbliss; Shanna Golden and husband Jeff; Cole Divelbliss; and wife Ashley; Lindsay Divelbliss; four step-grandchildren: Dusti Ferry; Jamie (VanPelt) Fischer and husband David R. Fischer; Dustin Hull and Jenna Hull; three great-grandchildren: Cierra Divelbliss, Danielle Divelbliss, Kyndal Divelbliss; three step greatgrandchildren: Carson Chambers, Blaine Fischer, Hope Fischer; along with many loving nieces, nephews and their families, and her special pet Pomeranian, Rusty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing away by an infant son, H. Dwight Divelbliss, and a brother, Maynard Wilkins.

She attended the Pennwood Bible Church in Everett, was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School Class of 1947 and worked as a housekeeper at the Best Western Motor Lodge in Breezewood until retiring. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and canning for everyone she knew and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed for her strong faith in our Lord, and living and sharing by His Word.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Everett, with Pastor Floyd Rinehart officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Burial will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas.
