Woman Charged In $16K Theft From Grocery Store
McKEES ROCKS, Pa. (AP) – Police have arrested the woman they say walked into a Pittsburgh-area grocery store and walked out with more than $16,000 in cash.
Kennedy Township police arrested 45-year-old Darcy Lynn Hudson in a motel late Wednesday. Authorities say they received a tip about Hudson’s whereabouts after they named her as a suspect.
Investigators say Hudson walked into the cash room of the Giant Eagle market in Crafton on November 5, took more than $16,400 and walked out. When stopped by an employee, Hudson allegedly said she’d thought it was the bathroom.
Police say Hudson had about $8,000 cash in the room where she was arrested.
It was not clear if Hudson had an attorney.
