Harold E. Bradshaw
Harold E. “Gene” Bradshaw, 78, Wafordsburg, died Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born September 11, 1932, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Marshall and Edna Johnson Bradshaw and husband of Phyllis J. Akers Bradshaw, whom he married December 29, 1953, in Hagerstown.
He attended Warfordsburg High School.
He was was a member of Teamsters Local 30, Pittsburgh, and a retired truck driver for Jones Motor Co., Norristown, Pa., and also L&C Trucking, Needmore.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a jet mechanic.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Perkins, and husband Gil, Ellaville, Ga.; three sons: Gary Bradshaw and wife Tina, Jeff Bradshaw and wife Alonna, Lynn Bradshaw, all of Warfordsburg; one sister, Mary, Sauter, Warfordsburg; two brothers: Don Bradshaw and Mark Bradshaw, both of Warfordsburg; eight grandchildren: Jason, Brandon and Aaron Wilt, Warfordsburg; Gary Eugene Bradshaw II, Hancock; Jennifer Douglas, Big Cove Tannery; Alex Bradshaw, Warfordsburg; Lexi Bradshaw and Morgan Bradshaw, Ellaville, Ga.; five great-grandchildren: Logan and Jaxon Wilt, Warfordsburg; Brady Wilt and Alyssa Bradshaw, Hancock; Dawson Douglas, Big Cove Tannery; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Hanks.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m., at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. Rev. Edward Blank officiated. Burial, with military rites by Tri-State Honor Guard, were in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery.
