The second Teen Art Contest is being sponsored by the Fulton County Library’s Teen Advisory Board. Any 13- to 19-yearold with a valid Fulton County Library card is eligible to participate. Divided into two age groups, 13 to 15 and 16 to 19, there is a first prize of $50 and second prize of $25 for each grouping.

In addition to the prize money, the four winning artists will see their work hang in the teen room of the McConnellsburg library for one year. At the end of that time, the artwork will be returned to the artists and the third annual Teen Art Contest will be held. This gives teen artists an opportunity to display their work and keeps the library exhibit fresh.

The artwork can be in any medium that can be framed and hung. All entries must be original artwork submitted by the artist. Rules and entry forms are available at Fulton County libraries and also available at www.fultoncountylibrary.o rg under the Teen Services tab. Free library cards can be obtained at the libraries with a parent’s signature.

Entries must be submitted Saturday, February 5, 2011, noon to 2 pm at the Fulton County Library, McConnellsburg. Judging will be February 7, 2011. All entries will be displayed at the Fulton County Library, McConnellsburg, February 7 through 19, 2011. There will be an open house on February 19, 2011, 1:00 to 2:30 pm.

To participate in more teen activities, join us for monthly Teen Nights at the Fulton County Library in McConnellsburg. The next Teen Night is December 3, 2010, 6 to 8:30 p.m. when we will be caroling and sharing the cookies the teens bring. Enter through the library’s basement.
