We are getting some much-needed rain as most are thinking about the great Thanksgiving holiday. Take time to thank the Master for our many blessings. Also take time to think of the military folks who aren’t able to be home for the holidays.

Our sympathy is extended to the Lynn family and relatives on the death of their daughter, Victoria, who was killed in an auto accident last week.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor a hog shoot November 20 at 1:00 p.m. You must shoot all regular rounds to qualify for the hog shoot. Various meat prizes will be given away. Shells will be used. No guns with less than a 640 choke and no sleeved guns will be permitted. Shells will be furnished. Guns may be checked that day if any questions. Everyone’s support will be appreciated.

Everyone is reminded that Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, November 27, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Now is a good time to come out and enjoy the talent of others or share your own A good time is had by everyone. Come and check us out, and the volunteer firemen will greatly appreciate it. Shooting matches will also be held Saturday, November 27, at 1 p.m.

Household hint: If you have an old tablecloth no longer good as a table cover, cut out good portions in squares and hem edges by hand or machine to make napkins or placemats using bias cut fabric or bias binding in a matching color.
