Community Thanksgiving Hymn Festival

The McConnellsburg Ministerium Community Thanksgiving service will be held on November 21, 2010, at 4:00 p.m., at the Mc- Connellsburg Presbyterian Church. Guest soloist Alex Helsabeck will be assisting area ministers in leading the service, which will include solos, anthems and great hymns of the Thanksgiving season.

Helsabeck is a native of Winston-Salem, N.C. He is currently a member of the United States Army Chorus in Washington, D.C. Prior to enlisting in the Army, he was a member, soloist and section leader for the United States Air Force Singing Sergeants.

Helsabeck was a church musician for 25 years serving in capacities as soloist, organist, choir master, director of music, director of contemporary worship, ministries facilitator, director of worship and arts, and director of youth and young adult activities for many Protestant denominations as well as the Catholic Church. He is currently director of music at The Episcopal Parish of All Saints’ Church and St. George’s Chapel, Rehoboth Beach, Del.

Please come and begin the Thanksgiving holiday with this unique worship experience. The offering will benefit the Fulton County Food Basket.
