Two Injured In Election Day Crash

Two Warfordsburg area residents sustained minor injuries during a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Long Hollow and Great Cove roads.

The 4:08 p.m. accident occurred on November 2, according to state police, when 81-year-old Abner L. Weaver failed to stop at the intersection. Weaver’s 1996 Chevrolet S-10 crossed into the path of a southbound 2005 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Samantha D. Jenkins, 23. Following the collision, Weaver’s truck travelled approximately 60 feet before crossing into a field. Jenkins’ car spun into the northbound lane coming to a rest.

Both Weaver and Jenkins were wearing seat belts. Jenkins was transported by Needmore ambulance to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment. Weaver will be cited for a stop-and-yield sign violation.
