Lester W. Wright

Wells Tannery, 76

Lester Wayne Wright, 76, Wells Tannery, died at 9:02 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Altoona Regional Healthcare System, Altoona Campus.

Born April 27, 1934, in Wells Tannery, he was the son of the late Albert and Ruby (Warsing) Wright. He was married to Barbara Rice on June 13, 1953. She survives at their home.

He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Sipes, and husband Larry of Everett, and two sons: Lester Wright Jr., of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Joseph Wright and wife Anne of Clovis, N.M.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one step-greatgrandchild; three sisters: Erma England and Maxine Means , both of Everett, and Vivian Wright of Wells Tannery; and a brother, Robert Wright, also of Wells Tannery.

Three brothers, Norman “Jake” Wright, Gerald Wright and Kenneth Wright and one sister, Geraldine Cook, are deceased.

He had worked on con- struction projects, mostly road paving and as a farmer. He was last employed by N. R. Corbisello Co., Binghamton, N.Y., as an equipment operator.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Cross officiated. Interment was in Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Wells Tannery.
