Carl A. Fletcher

Carl Alvin Fletcher, 77, Warfordsburg, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born February 26, 1933, in Snake Spring, Pa., he was the son of the late Alvin Detenor and Minnie Evelyn Diehl Fletcher.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was retired quality control manager for Fleetwood Hancock, Md., and more recently for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

He was manager of the Buck Valley Little League.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ada Arlene Hendershot Fletcher; children: Carla Long, Buck Valley; Aubrey Fletcher, Marion Station, Md.; Aletha Bageant, New Carrolton, Md.; Adriel Fletcher and Alanna Fletcher, both of Buck Valley; a sister, Gaynell Hall, McCon-nellsburg; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters: Arvada Sigel and Leona Zies; and brothers: Verl and Clyde Fletcher.

Services were held Saturday, November 6, at 11:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Dick Bernhard officiated. Burial, with military graveside services by Tri-State Honor Guard, was held in Buck Valley Christian Cemetery.
