Jane Lamison of Cooper Lane recently spent several days with her daughter, Peggy Lee, and husband Terry Moore of New Jersey. While there she attended the wedding of her grandson, Robert Barger, to Rachel Smith.

Harold and Linda Comerer of Mc- Connellsburg and Waynesboro spent part of the weekend in New York City, where they cheered on Harold’s daughter, Andrea, who ran the 2010 New York City Marathon.

Lois McGowan, formerly of Hustontown, is now a resident in the long-term care unit at Fulton County Medical Center.

Greg and Tina Gress will observe their 30th wedding anniversary on November 15.

The S.A.D.D. students of McConnellsburg School enjoyed a movie-mall trip last weekend on Friday night with 41 high school students and on Saturday with 106 middle school students. They were supervised by Kathy Kendall and several parents. Don’t forget redneck basket bingo on Saturday to support activities for the youths.

Ruth Souders, a resident in the long-term care unit of Fulton County Medical Center, will observe her 98 years young birthday on November 13.

Congratulations to Dustin Sheffield of Forbes Road for being named to the all-star Sideling Hill soccer first team. Honorable mention went to Forbes Road’s Donovan Bricker and Bradley Boggs. McConnellsburg soccer girls named were Libby Strayer, Nikki Mc- Quade and Carly Mellott Honorable mention went to Nikki Fleming. Rachel Kendall, Nikki McQuade and Carly Mellott were named to the All-Star ICC team.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were Jenna Hollenshead and Alex Zanella, Southern Fulton cross-country; Josh Voight, Southern Fulton cross-country; Whitney Ritz, Southern Fulton volleyball; and Emily Watkins, Mc- Connellsburg volleyball.

Southern Fulton held its musical “The Wiz” on Friday and Saturday nights with a good house each evening.

Ralph Kell is a patient in Western Maryland Hospital. Cards can be sent to him at the hospital, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., 2 West, Room I, Hagerstown, MD 21742. His wife Mary is at their Mc- Connellsburg home and would welcome visitors.
