Get well wishes to Aaron Snyder, son of Mike and Mandy Snyder. Aaron is recovering from mono.

Sharon Horne, Susie Schmidt, Jessie Rhoades and Patty Ramsey enjoyed a relaxing week vacationing and sightseeing in the Florida Keys. While we were freezing with temperatures in the 20s most nights, these ladies were suffering through the 80s.

Walnut Grove Senior Youth Group recently held its annual fall lock-in with several messy games, pumpkin carving and plenty of food. A good time was had by all.

Kurtis, Rhonda and Maddison Wible were in Charlotte, N.C., this past week to see the “World of Outlaws” at the Charlotte Speedway. They toured several museums, including the Richard Childress Racing Museum and his farm.

Congratulations to Tim and Priscilla Mitchell on the birth of their daughter, Emily Teresa, on November 1.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff visited with Stanley and Sue Hall on Friday evening.

A retirement party was held in Bev Price’s honor on Saturday by her children, Dodie and Jon. More than 25 family members and friends were there to celebrate with her.

Shade Gap Auxiliary’s community turkey supper will be this Saturday.

Sunday evening open forum worship services will be held at Orbisonia United Methodist Church beginning at 6:30pm.

Preparations are being made for the Angel Wings annual craft bazaar at the Shade Gap Auxiliary building on December 4 and 5. Contact Deb Snyder at 814- 599-8687 if you are an interested vendor. Preregistration and payment are required; deadline for interested vendors is November 15.

Visiting recently with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were Brent Carlson, Travis Madden, Donna Locke, Buzz and Bea Covert, Jody Hann, Amanda Yocum, and Tom and Mamie Streightiff.

Immanuel Bible Church will be holding Thanksgiving Eve services on November 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting a chicken-n-waffles dinner on November 14 beginning at 11 a.m.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to our veterans this Thursday and our thank-you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.
