SF Clinches Cross-Country Title

The Southern Fulton Lady Indians cross-country squad clinched the District 5 championship title last Wednesday, with Alex Zanella grabbing a first-place finish for her Indian team. Zanella finished the meet with a time of 19:56 and along with teammates Jenna Hollenshead, Amy Bard, Macey Hollenshead, Lacey Beatty, Mariah Hill and Taelor Morton will compete at a state level.

Jenna Hollenshead completed last week’s race in third with a time of 21:24, and Bard placed sixth (22:05). Macey Hollenshead and Beatty, respectively, finished in seventh and eighth-place after recording a time of 22:10 and 22:21. Hill placed 14th (25:11), and Morton was in 17th place overall (25:55).

The victory will allow the girls to complete at the PIAA state meet November 6 in Hershey.
