Verna L. Appleby
Verna Louise Appleby, 66, Hustontown, Pa., died at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2010, at Altoona Regional Healthcare System, Altoona Campus.
Born August 28, 1944, in Hustontown, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Martin and Sarah (Shore) Cutchall. She was married to Clarence Terry Appleby on October 4, 1964. He survives at their home.
She is survived by a son, Shawn Appleby and wife Kay, of Chambersburg, and a daughter, Talisha “Tally” Harmon and husband Russell of Big Cove Tannery; one grandson, Linkyn Harmon; three sisters: Lillie Cook, Three Springs; Dorothy Clever, Mercersburg, and Alma Lininger, Hustontown; and a nephew, Steve Gracey, Hustontown; and a niece, Vicky Truax, Breezewood, whom she recognized as her brother and sister.
She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church, McConnellsburg.
She had worked as a barber from 1980 until 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2010 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA 17229 with Pastor William McCommons officiating. Interment will be made in Hustontown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday. There will be no public viewing.
