Man Faces Homicide Charge In Mother’s Death
CRESSON, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man has been charged with shooting his mother to death during an argument after he crashed his car a few blocks from home.
State police at Ebensburg say 23-year-old Andrew Choros was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder and criminal homicide in the death of 50- year-old Sharon Choros in her home in Cresson Township, Cambria County. The victim was a nurse in the Penn Cambria school district.
Township police said Andrew Choros, a student at St. Francis University, had been arrested at about noon Friday on suspicion of DUI. State police allege that after his release, he obtained several guns and started shooting in the house, and the victim was shot after she returned home.
Authorities say Choros was being held without bond at Cambria County prison; it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
