Larry Steele and Cheryl Barnes visited with Bea Covert on Friday afternoon. Larry was dressed is his Halloween mask, but Bea still knew who he was when he knocked at the door.

Amanda Yocum visited with Karen Grissinger this past week.

Pfc. Eric Patterson graduated infantry from Fort Benning, Ga., on October 22, 2010. He will be leaving for Fort Lewis, Wash., on November 1. He was able to spend a week at home with family and friends before leaving. Eric and his family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, letters and support during his 16 weeks away at training. Please continue to remember him and all of our servicemen and women.

Visiting recently with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were Halloween-goers June, Shaine, Shawn, and Steve Mills, Tasha, Shaine and Kean Goshorn, Mike, Mandy, Aaron and Michael Snyder, and Gary, Donna, Cassie and Caleigh Clark.

Also visiting this week were Travis, Tanya, Ty and Tristen Hall, Robyn, Kolton and Alayna Gaff, Brent Carlson, Travis Madden, Donna Locke, Bea Covert, and Tom and Mamie Streightiff.

Congratulations to Kenny and Kristi Watkins on the birth of their son, Jase Connor, last Tuesday morning at 8:57 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, 10-1/2 ounces and was 18 inches long. Proud grandparents, Tom and Mamie Streightiff have been enjoying spoiling their first grandchild.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff visited with Tim Streightiff in Washington, D.C., on Sunday afternoon.

Huldah and Betty Streightiff visited with Kenny and Kristi and Huldah’s new great-grandson this weekend.

Immanuel Bible Church will be holding Thanksgiving Eve services on November 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting a chicken and waffles dinner on November 14 beginning at 11 a.m.

This weekend is the end of Daylight Saving Time, so it’s time to turn the clocks back one hour. There is no excuse for being late for church this Sunday; you will have an extra hour to get there.
