Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather for the weekend

Hope everyone took the time to go out to vote on Tuesday.

Sorry to hear Verna Appleby as taken to the hospital. We send speedy recovery wishes her way.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Joyce Bookheimer, who passed away last week.

Some folks of the area are on a hunting trip out West. We wish them good luck.

Randy and Trudy Gelvin and sons Dylan and Tristan recently enjoyed an Eagles concert at Bryce Jordan Center in State College.

There were quite a few folks out for trick-or-treating on Friday evening.

Remember to turn clocks back one hour next Sunday morning.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor shooting matches beginning Saturday, November 6, at 1 p.m. Shells will be provided and prizes will be awarded. Everyone’s support is always appreciated.

Household hint: Put a curtain on Old Man Winter. Scraping windshields can be nasty, just save the time and cut an old shower curtain to fit the size and shape of windshield. Sew magnets along the edges and keep it in the car and place over windshield in snowy weather. Saves time and messy clearing of snow.
