The second annual Fight Like A Girl cancer luncheon was held October 2, 2010, at Celebrations Unlimited Party Planning in Fort Littleton. Ninety-six people including special guest Susan Corbett (Attorney General Tom Corbett’s wife), were in attendance.

This year’s event went to benefit two ladies diagnosed with cancer, Linda Litton, Needmore, and Panda Horne, Fort Littleton. Each lady was on hand with their families and shared their story.

There were more than 40 silent auction items donated by the community and friends. Special guest speaker was Matthew Pilkerton from Tri-State Community Health Center, who did an awesome job with his Power- Point presentation.

Guests enjoyed the fellowship and a light lunch of soup, salad and dessert after the program.

Chairperson Deb Toothman said that “Fight Like a Girl” meant women fighting together for each other so that no one stands alone in this journey.

Thanks to the generosity of all who attended and donated both recipients received checks for $1,325.67.

Mark calendars to attend next year’s event, which will be the first Saturday in October 2011.
