McConnellsburg Borough trick-or-treat will be held this Thursday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Those wishing to participate should turn their porch lights on during this time. The annual Halloween parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.

Congratulations to Adam Culler and Molly Mackley on their marriage on Saturday in York. The wedding and reception were held in the Valencia Ballroom. Adam’s parents, John and Deb Culler, observed their 33rd wedding anniversary recently.

Mont and Reta Chamberlain of McConnellsburg celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary last week. They attended a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. They renewed their vows at The Inn At Westwynd Farm in Hershey and hiked the Bushkill Waterfalls in the Poconos.

Ryan Little recently had bone surgery in Hershey Hospital, and he had a birthday on October 9.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were Kali Hockensmith, Forbes Road field hockey; Dillan Hollenshead, Mc- Connellsburg soccer; Megan Keller, Forbes Road field hockey; Whitney Ritz, Southern Fulton volleyball; Libby Strayer, McConnellsburg soccer; Jesse Swope, Mc- Connellsburg soccer; and Emily Watkins, McConnellsburg volleyball.

Toby, Dena, Tessa, Hannah and Tobias McGarvey and Justin Strait attended the ladies soccer game be- tween Penn State Altoona Lady Lions and Hilbert College. Penn State won 4-0, including a goal by Erin Chafardon, a graduate and former soccer player at McConnellsburg High School who plays for the Lady Lions.

Visiting with Bob and Shirley Sample recently were Kenneth Sample, Rob and Collin Sample of Lancaster, and they also enjoyed the fall activities.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Rosalie Deshong and Carolyn Mills, who recently passed away.

Public Opinion Female Athlete of the Week was Whitney Ritz of Southern Fulton for volleyball. She is a junior and the daughter of Todd and Wendy Ritz.

Good luck to the Fulton County Cowboys varsity cheerleading squad that will be competing for the title on Saturday in Juniata Valley.

Bradon Christopher Martin was baptized on Sunday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, McConnellsburg. He is the son of Pastor Chris and Lindsay Martin.
