Goldie J. Bard King, 85, a resident of ManorCare Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and formerly of Harrisonville, died Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg.
She was born in Harrisonville, on December 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Ira and Clara (Daniels) Mellott. She was the widow of Dean King, whom she married in 1992, and he passed away in 1998.
She retired from Pet Ritz in Chambersburg after many years of service.
She is survived by daughters: Delores F. Eyer of Chambersburg; Wavalene F. Bard of Mechanicsburg; son Dallas E. Bard of Needmore; stepdaughter Vickie Bailey of Fayetteville; stepsons Bob King of Hagerstown; John King of Chambersburg, and Steve King of Florida; brothers: Simon Mellott of Chambersburg; William Mellott of Waynesboro; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 14 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by first husband Almon T. Bard who passed away in 1981; sisters: Bertha DeShong and Jeanne Swindell, and brothers: Roy and Robert Mellott.
Services were at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville, at 11:00 a.m.. on Monday, October 11, 2010. Pastor Ky Searcy and Pastor Dan Porterfield officiated. Interment was at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery, Harrisonville.
