Teresa V. Uccellini
Teresa Virginia Smith Uccellini, 58, Mercersburg, died at 1:58 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, in Chambersburg Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born December 3, 1951, in McConnellsburg, she was a daughter of H. Virginia Gress Smith of Mercersburg and the late George M. Smith of Fulton County.
She attended James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg. In 1974 she opened Teresa’s Styling Center and also operated a women’s clothing boutique on Main Street, Mercersburg. She was an antiques dealer with locations in Mercersburg, McConnellsburg and Frederick, Md. She was an avid painter, specializing in wall murals and waterclors and had several showings of her works in Chambersburg and Hagerstown. She painted the murals inside the lodge at Whitetail Ski Resort. She was passionate about gardening and deeply loved her pets.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg.
Prior to her illness, she was a board member of Franklin County Literacy Council and Franklin County Women in Need. Her other memberships included former vice president of Tuscarora Chamber of Commerce, American Business Women’s Association, DAR, Eastern Star, and The Livesay Historical Society. At the time of her death she was president of Mercersburg Water Authority and vice chairman of Mercersburg Planning Commission.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her dear friend, Terry Sirk; two sons: William B. Uccellini, York, Pa., and Robert S. (husband of Amy) Uccellini, Hedgesville, W.Va.; two brothers: Brenton G. (husband of Jody) Smith and Ross A. (husband of Tamela) Smith, both of Mercersburg; four grandsons: Hunter, Nicholas, Alexander and Zachary Uccellini; a niece, Katelyn Smith and two nephews: Chad (husband of Hillery) Smith and Ryan (husband of Larissa) Smith; an uncle, Charles R. Gress and family of Biloxi, Miss.; close cousins: Anthony and Bobbi DiBaldo and Phyllis Fraley; and numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Uccellini, in 1990 and her paternal grandparents: Brooks and Kitty Hill Smith and maternal grandparents Roy and Helen Ross Gress and step-grandmother, Isabel Divelbliss Gress.
Memorial services were held at 1:00 p.m., October 6, at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg. Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiated. Burial was made at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon.
