State Police Say Pa. Crime Dropped 5 Pct Last Year
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – A new report from the Pennsylvania State Police says reported crimes across the state dropped more than 5 percent last year compared to 2008.
The Uniform Crime Report issued Thursday showed total crimes fell from 1.01 million in 2008 to just over 955,000 in 2009.
The report shows there were 48,000 violent crimes, the lowest number since 2003. There were 648 homicides last year, 56 fewer than the previous year.
