House Explodes In Western Pennsylvania, Injuring 1

ATWOOD, Pa. (AP) – One person is hurt after a house exploded in western Pennsylvania.

Authorities in Armstrong County say the person was inside the home in the Pittsburgh suburb of Atwood when it exploded shortly before 4 p.m. Friday.

The Pittsburgh Post- Gazette reports that firefighters responded and the injured person was flown to the hospital. The victim’s identity and condition are unknown.

Fire crews had the blaze under control shortly after 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
