Bethel Residents Need 911 Emergency Service Clarified
The importance of 911 emergency service and its understanding by residents of Bethel Township is of critical importance.
The Fulton County News stated on September 01, 2010, that agreement has been reached between Needmore Volunteer Fire Co. and the Hancock Rescue Squad that allows Hancock to provide ALS to Bethel Township. The paper stated further that ALS service from Hancock has been restored for the purpose of “dual response” with Needmore and that “first due” status applies to Needmore regarding BLS. This should be explained.
The residents of Bethel Township deserve a statement signed by both responsible parties, (Chief Sigel of Needmore Fire Co. and Chief Barnhart who oversees duties of the Hancock Rescue Squad) clearly delineating the coordinated emergency service that can be expected from Needmore and Hancock.
