Healthy Sportsman Turnout Successful

Fulton County Medical Center and Mc- Laughlin’s Drug Store presented the healthy sportsman contest winner, Clair Helman of Mc- Connellsburg, with a Barnett Wildcat C5 Crossbow. The crossbow was the grand prize for the annual Healthy Sportsman Health Fair. The youth grand-prize winner of the Parker Buck-Shot Extreme Youth Bow was Michael Sechrist of Hustontown. His prize was donated by Jack Steele Family Dentistry.

One hundred and 70 came out to take part in the center’s annual healthy sportsman health fair. With more than 15 free screenings offered, participants got a good handle on their “numbers.” The free screenings were provided by FCMC staff and other local health care providers, including Tri- State Community Health Center, It’s all about Hearing, Joey Lane Optometrist, the county’s Allied Health students and instructor Brandi Mellott.

The fair was held at FCMC’s campus located at 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg. Also during the day, food donations were accepted by the Fulton County Food Basket, and a total of 137 items and $75 in cash were received. Each donor received a free camouflage backpack compliments of CMC and Always Connected.

Additionally, local vendors who provided displays and education for the community were the Blue & Gray Relic Shop, Fulton County Food Basket, PA State Police and Lutheran Home Care & Hospice. FCMC reminds sportsmen to mark their calendars for next year’s event held the last Sunday in September.
