Hustontown Man Requires Treatment
A Hustontown area man was transported to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained to his hand, leg and elbow during an accident along Route 475.
Fifty-seven-year-old David C. Merrill suffered the injuries when he locked up the brakes of his 2007 Yamaha and jumped off it just north of the intersection of South Madden Road on Sunday, September 19. Merrill, according to state police, was travelling northbound when a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 driven by a 17-year-old Hustontown boy pulled from Route 475 and crossed in front of Merrill and into the southbound lane.
Merrill was wearing a motorcycle helmet when the crash occurred at 6:20 p.m. The juvenile was using a seat belt, escaped harm and will be cited for improper entrance to a highway.
