Assoc. Of Township Officials To Meet Oct. 11
Officials represeting townships of the second class in Fulton County will convene Monday, October 11, 2010, at Sideling Hill Christian Church dining hall for their 88th annual county convention.
The purpose of the annual convention is to provide township officials with up-to-date information to help them better serve their residents and to give the man opportunity to exchange ideas on local government issues.
The convention will feature a wide range of speakers, including David M. Sanko, executive director of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. Sanko will talk about legislation affecting townships of the second class, association programs and services for townships, and issues of major importance to townships and their residents.
The State Association of Township Supervisors represents Pennsylvania’s 1,455 townships of the second class, 11 which are located in Fulton County.
Other speakers who will address the township officials include: Sen. John Eichelberger; Rep. Dick Hess; Bonnie Mellott- Keefer and Craig Cutchall, Fulton County commissioners; Andy Sottlemyer and Scott Alexander, Fulton County Conservation District; Steve Thomas, Fulton County Planning Commission; Clem Malot, Commonwealth Code Inspection Service; and Josh Vecchio, Capital Tax Collection Bureau.
