Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

We are glad to be getting some much-needed rain as we start the week.

We need to keep John Gallaher on the prayer list as he is taking chemo treatments. Hope he will have a full recovery.

Belated happy birthday wishes to Brooke Sheeder, September 21, and happy birthday wishes to Terry Mc- Gowan on September 26, Harold Berkstresser on September 28 and Kristin Torcasco on September 28.

Hustontown Fire Co. sponsors an open stage once a month with an invitation to anyone who wants to come and share their talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. The open stage will be held Saturday, October 16, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. The firemen wish to thank all the people who gave their time to come and entertain everyone and also to the people who come and enjoy the talent of others and support the firemen at the same time.

Knobsville United Methodist Church will have a free community meal on Saturday, October 2, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in honor and in memory of John Bivens and Gladys Kendall, who generously remembered the church in their estates. If anyone wishes to give an honorary donation they may do so. Menu will be turkey, mashed potatoes, filling, gravy, mixed vegetables, relish tray, rolls and dessert. Come out and enjoy an evening meal.

We extend our sympathy to the families and relatives of the two students of Southern Fulton who were killed in an auto accident on Monday morning.

Beverly St. Clair and Alaina visited with Kate Berkstresser one evening last week.

The Lynch reunion will be held at Needmore Firehall at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3. Come bring a covered dish and enjoy the afternoon.

Household hint: To keep dried spices and herbs longer, store them in containers and place in the freezer rather than in the cupboard.
