Death linked to blunt force trauma
STAFF REPORT

A Hancock, Md., man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle accident in Thompson Township over the weekend.

Twenty-eight-year-old Larry Lee Iden Jr. died on Sunday, September 19, as a result of blunt force trauma to the neck and chest area, according to Fulton County Coroner Berley Souders. Time of death has been calculated as 4:45 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Police from the McConnellsburg substation reported Iden lost control of his blue Ford minivan at 2:26 a.m. The van struck a guiderail and travelled along the guiderail for some distance before it crossed the roadway at 1068 Timber Ridge Road and rolled onto its side.

Souders told to the “News” that it appeared Iden was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred during the early morning hours.

State police investigating officer Trooper Gary Hibner received assistance on the scene from members of the Hancock Fire Co.
