Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Hope everyone is still out enjoying this beautiful weather, but we sure could use a little rain to go with it. Also we have to think how this affects the farmers’ crops to supply their feed for the winter.

Our sympathy is extended to the famly and relatives of Betty J. Berkstresser, who passed away last week and also to the family and relatives of Alberta Coons, who also passed away last week.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, September 25, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and share their talents. A good time is enjoyed by everyone and admission is free. The hall is also a nonsmoking facility.

The fire company is inviting everyone to come out and visit them for Fulton Fall Folk Festival. Watch the paper for more details of events later. You won’t want to miss them or the good food.

The Lynch reunion will be held at Needmore Firehall on Sunday, October 3. Come bring a covered dish for the 1:00 p.m. meal. Come enjoy the afternoon with relatives and friends and also bring an item for the auction.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Edgar and Jeanne Kough of Three Springs, who were killed in an auto accident in Three Springs Friday. Jeanne will be remembered as a Tupperware dealer.

Belated happy birthday to Brooke Sheeder on September 21 and also happy birthday to Herbert Berkstresser Jr. on September 20 and to Harold Berkstresser on September 28.

Household hint: When glass shower doors turn dull and filmy, wipe them down with a soft cloth saturated with distilled white vinegar or water softener solution then shine with a dry cloth.
