Woodrow W. Keefer
Woodrow W. Keefer, 86, a resident at Menno Haven Retirement Community and formerly of McConnellsburg, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg.
He was born in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., on October 10, 1923, the son of the late David and Ruth (Downin) Keefer. He was the widower of Beulah E. (Peck) Keefer whom he married on July 30, 1946, and she passed away on September 6, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II, was a member of the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, Pa., the VFW Post# 655, McConnellsburg, Pa., and was a foundry inspector at the Frick Co. in Waynesboro, Pa., for over 30 years
He is survived by sons: Woodrow W. (husband of Beverly) Keefer of Mc- Connellsburg; Randolph I. (husband of Bonnie Mellott) Keefer of McConnellsburg; Robert H. (husband of Roxanne) Keefer of Elizabeth; daughter Pamela M.K. (wife of Thomas) Taylor of Mc- Connellsburg; sister Edith Seville of McConnellsburg; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 14 siblings.
Services were held at Needmore Bible Church, at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Rev. Delmas Bard officiated. Interment was at Union Cemetery, Mc- Connellsburg.
Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, was in charge of arrangements. Military services were conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
