The McConnellsburg Lady Spartans opened up the 2010 fall soccer season last Friday, scoring seven unanswered goals against Johnstown Christian. Teammates Libby Strayer and Sarah Kendall each scored two goals, while Nicki Mc- Quade, Nikki Fleming and Carly Mellott all contributed one assist. Those providing assists were Fleming, Strayer, Kylie Zittle and Morgan Barclay. Goalkeeper Sarah Pollock posted two saves for the shutout. Boys Soccer

Conestoga Christian 1

Forbes Road posted three goals in the opening half of Saturday’s non-league match to roll on to a 4-1 victory over Conestoga Christian.

Presley Swope rallied for two goals, while teammates Dakota DeShong and Donovan Bricker each had one goal. Michael Runk and Casey Covert had two assists and one assist, respectively. Tanner Henry, goalkeeper, tallied four goals for the non-league shutout.
