Clarence C. Crawford

Clarence E. Crawford, 95, formerly of Warfordsburg, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at his daughter’s home in Missouri.

He was born March 30, 1915, in Amaranth, Pa., the son of the late Watson and Frances (Engle) Crawford. He was married to the late Mildred Mellott Crawford on April 15, 1936.

He was a truck driver for 20 years with Frye Co. in Mercersburg and was a lifetime farmer until his health failed him in 2008, at which time he went to live with his daughter in Holden, Mo.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions within the church.

He is survived by daughters: Joan D. Creek of Holden, Mo.; Betty Jean (Jeanne) Breakall of Elizabeth, Colo.; Marcene J. Estes of Garner, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Watson and Frances Crawford; his wife, Mildred Mary Crawford, and infant son, Lynn R. Crawford.

Funeral services were held at noon, Monday, August 30, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hancock, Md. Interment was at Jerusalem Christian Cemetery in Warfordsburg.
