F&M Trust Named One Of The 100 Best Places To Work In PA 2010

F&M Trust Co. was recently named as one of the 100 Best Places to Work in PA for 2010. This is the seventh year in the past eight that the local bank was named to the list.

The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first of its kind offered by a state in the country. The program is a public/private partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and the Central Penn Business Journal.

The Best Places to Work in PA survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The program is made up of 100 companies split into two groups: 50 medium-sized companies (50-250 employees) and 50 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees). In the past, employers were categorized based upon the number of employees they had in Pennsylvania. This year, employers were categorized based upon the total number of employees they have in the United States. This change was made to ensure the proper alignment of organizations and to avoid naming large national employers to the small/medium list simply because they have fewer employees based in Pennsylvania. This change did not have any impact on which organizations made the list, just how they were categorized. F&M Trust has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA 2010 in the largesized company category.

Last year, the bank was named the #11 Best Place to Work in PA large-sized company. F&M Trust was first nominated for the Best Places to Work in PA in 2003, finishing 12th overall in the list of medium-sized companies (25-250 employees). That was followed by overall rankings of 14th in 2004 and 47th in 2005 in the mediumsized company group, along with a ranking of 22nd in 2007 and 25th in 2008 in the largesized company category.

Companies from across the state entered the twopart process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part, worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation, consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. Best Companies Group manages the overall registration and survey process.

F&M Trust will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in PA evening awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, Pa. Rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.

F&M Trust Co. is an independent community bank headquartered in Chambersburg with $967 million in assets.
