The senior center folks had a picnic and enjoyed other activities at the farm of Charles Cook on Friday, August 27.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Elsie Kendall Riggs, a former Fulton County resident, who passed away last week at the home of her daughter, Valerie, in Virginia.

Congratulations to Harry Jr. and Winter Johnston on the birth of a daughter, Maggie Mae, born in the Waynesboro Hospital on August 23. Maggie has an older sister, Ella Dawn.

A “I”m Not Going Back To School Picnic” for all former school employees was held last Wednesday at the Lions Club Park with a good turnout.

Summer is nearing the end! Have a safe Labor Day weekend.

Visiting with Margaret “Peg” Gordon last week were her daughter, Sandy Premeaux of New Mexico, and granddaughter Diane Kokes of Arizonia.

Mary Hoover and her family attended the funeral of Dean Hoover, brother of the late Rev. David Hoover on Friday in Spring Grove.

James Hedges of Big Cove Tannery, a retired Marine band member, was invited to participate in the alumni band concerts held in Washington, D.C., at the Capitol and the Mall on August 25 and 26. Hedges plays the tuba.

Jean Kies is now home after spending a couple weeks in Fulton County Medical Center.

Ty and Lisa Daniels observed their 21st wedding anniversary on August 27. Their daughter, Kaitlin, was 21 on August 25 and their daughter, Krista, 17 on August 27.

Mary Hoover is now a resident in the long-term care unit of the Fulton County Medical Center. Her room number is 16B, Shimer Trail.

A baby shower was held on Saturday in the social room of St. Paul Lutheran Church for Lindsay Martin, wife of St. Paul Lutheran minister Pastor Martin, with members of Mt. Zion and St. Paul’s Lutheran attending also.
