Mark A. Appleby

Mark Allen Appleby, 24, Three Springs, died Tuesday morning, August 10, 2010 at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.

Born November 7, 1985, in Hershey, Pa., he was the son of Wendell and Cindy (Starr) Appleby. He was married to Jessica Cutshall on July 6, 2007. She survives at their home, along with two sons: Ethan James and Andrew Michael Appleby.

He is survived by his parents of Neelyton; a brother, Matthew Appleby of Carlisle; paternal grandparents: Lindburgh and Audrie Appleby, Chambersburg; and maternal grandmother Audrey Starr and her companion Pete Keith, Orbisonia.

A brother, Michael Appleby, and maternal grandfather, Gerald Starrm are deceased.

He graduated from Southern Huntingdon County High School in the Class of 2004.

He was employed as a lineman for A&B Aerials, Rockhill Furnace. Earlier he had worked for Cowan’s Farm, Neelyton, Pa.

He loved hunting and local dirt track racing, especially at Hill Valley Speedway where he raced in the 4- and 6-cylinder divisions.

He especially adored his children.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia. Pastor Andrew Ficks and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiated. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, Pa. .
