Deed Missing

A 90-year-old Needmore man told state police a folder containing the deed to his property and other important paperwork was stolen from his vehicle between July 15 and July 22. The vehicle was parked at 715 Chest Road in Belfast Township when the theft occurred. Anyone having additional information regarding this case should contact Trooper Wadsworth at 717- 485-3131.

Pistol Stolen

A .25 caliber Excam pistol (Model #GT27) and a bottle of Oxycodone pills were stolen from a locked vehicle parked at 832 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, between 11 p.m. on July 30 and 10 a.m. on August 1. The owner of the stolen items, a 30-year-old McConnellsburg man, has valued the loss at $210. Anyone having further information linked to this theft is asked to call Trooper Wadsworth at 717-485- 3131.

Police Investigate Car Crash

State police in McConnellsburg are continuing to investigate a single-vehicle crash along Lincoln Way East on Wednesday, August 4. According to reports, a westbound 1990 Accura driven by 21-year-old Emory Bishop of McConnellsburg travelled off the Todd Township roadway just outside the borough of McConnellsburg at 10:05 p.m. The vehicle went into the grass and struck a large tree.

Bishop was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to Fulton County Medical Center before being flown to Conemaugh Valley Memorial Medical Center. Passenger Loren Stains, 19, from McConnellsburg, also sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment.

Stains will be cited by state police through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott for underage drinking. The investigation into violations allegedly committed by Bishop is ongoing.

Police Release Monthly Report

State police, McConnellsburg, released a crime and patrol activity report for the month of July, during which a total of 84 criminal offenses were reported. Forty-four of the offenses were cleared, and 40 arrests were made. In addition, 26 crashes were investigated as were two hitand run accidents, one fatal collision and four driving-under the-influence accidents. One individual was fatally wounded , and 18 individuals suffered injuries. Furthermore, 12 seat-belt citations, one child-seat citation, 579 traffic citations and 372 warning notices were issued.

Warfordsburg Man Cited

A Warfordsburg man was cited with harassment through Magisterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson. State police reported 48- year-old Vincent Irving Venzant allegedly struck a 65- year-old Warfordsburg area woman in the face during a verbal argument on Tuesday, August 3, at 9:30 p.m. The incident occurred at 492 McKibbin Lane, Union Township.

Harassment Charge Filed

Thirty-five-year-old Ashley Robert Ramsey of Hustontown has been cited by state police with harassment through the office of Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne. Ramsey allegedly grabbed a 24-year-old female by the wrist and twisted it harshly several times during an argument at a location along Doran Road, Taylor Township, on July 30 at 10 p.m.

Woman Will Be Cited For Harassment

Thirty-nine-year-old Mc- Connellsburg resident Tina Marie Weddle will be cited for harassment after an inciplus dent that occurred at 39 Brooklyn Drive in Todd Township. On Tuesday, August 3, Weddle allegedly slapped a 28-year-old male from McConnellsburg in the face during a verbal argument at 8:20 p.m.

Firecracker Lit

A firecracker was placed inside a mailbox located at 3436 Buck Valley Road, Union Township, between 11 p.m. on August 2 and 8:30 a.m. on August 3. The firecracker was lit but did not go off. The mailbox belonging to a 82-year-old woman did not sustain any damage during the attempted mischief. Trash Can Catches Fire

A firecracker was placed inside a plastic trash can and ignited, causing the can to catch fire, state police in Mc- Connellsburg reported.The mischief occurred at 603 Old 126, Warfordsburg, on Tuesday, August 3, at 12:10 a.m. Victim is a 71-year-old female. Teen Driver Cited

A teenage driver has been cited for driving a vehicle at safe speeds in connection with a single-vehicle accident along Route 16 in Ayr Township.

State police in McConnellsburg reported on July 25 a westbound 1996 Neon driven by the 17-year-old female from Warfordsburg slid off the wet roadway and into an embankment. The car then rolled over, leaving the driver and its passenger, a 15- year-old Needmore boy, with moderate injuries. Both teens were transported to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment. Both individuals were using a seat belt when the 1:25 p.m. accident occurred.

McConnellsburg Man Charged With Assault

Troy Knepper, 40, Mc- Connellsburg, was charged with simple assault and two counts of harassment after an alleged physical altercation with a 37-year-old woman and a 16-year-old male, both of McConnellsburg.

The incident took place at a McConnellsburg Borough home Sunday, Aug. 8, at 10 p.m., McConnellsburg state police reported.

Knepper was arraigned before Magesterial District Judge Wendy Mellott and sent to Franklin County Jail.

Accused Of Harrassment

A criminal complaint for harassment against Kenneth Shawn Farley, 41, of Needmore was filed with Magesterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson after he allegedly called a 42-year-old Needmore women 89 times between July 16 and July 28 despite being told not to by both the state police and the victim.

Dublin Twp. Single-Vehicle Crash

Driver Darren J. Hoffman, 18, McConnellsburg, was not injured when he lost control of his 2006 Dodge Stratus as he was negotiating a righthand turn on Route 522 in Dublin Township on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 p.m.

State police, McConnellsburg, reported that Hoffman’s southbound vehicle slid across the highway and struck an embankment twice. The vehicle came to a stop facing north in the highway’s northbound lane.

Hoffman was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. He was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed, according to the police report.

Prescription Drugs Stolen

Prescribed pills belonging to a 33-year-old man were taken from his home at 18740 Lincoln Highway in Todd Township between 6:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. July 19.

McConnellsburg state police continue to investigate the theft. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 717-485- 3131.

Laptop, Gun Stolen

A 24-year-old McConnellsburg Borough man reported to state police that he discovered items belonging to him missing from his 412 Lincoln Way East apartment when he returned from the grocery store early Saturday morning, Aug. 7.

McConnellsburg state police said that, according to the victim, a Toshiba laptop computer and a Colt .45/410 single-shot rifle, silver with a black stock, were taken sometime between 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, and 1 a.m. Aug. 7. The victim also reported to state police that three individuals known to him were at his home when he left to go to the store.

I-70 Hit-and-Run

A disabled 1998 Dodge Neon legally parked on the shoulder of Interstate 70’s westbound lane at mile marker 170.3 was hit by an unknown vehicle on Saturday, Aug. 7.

The Bethel Township hitand run ocurred at 11:30 p.m., McConnellsburg state police reported.

fultoncountynews.com Minor Injury Reported In Brush Creek Accident

Only a minor injury was reported in a single-vehicle accident on T-366 in Brush Creek Township Friday, Aug. 6, at 5:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police, McConnellsburg.

Police said Alana L. Miller, 19, Warfordsburg, was southbound when she lost control of her 2000 Volkswagen Beetle as she negotiated a left-hand turn. Her car traveled onto the berm and as she attempted to steer it back on the road, she lost control again, causing the vehicle to spin and slide into an embankment. The car slid along the embankment, then back down onto T-366 and rolled over on its roof. The car slide across both of the road’s lanes on its roof for approximately 100 feet, stopping on private property along the east berm.

Miller was wearing a seat belt. Police said she was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Man Accused Of Prescription Fraud Arrested

A Warfordsburg man wanted in Martinsburg, W.Va., for prescription fraud was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police, McConnellsburg, at 1958 Stoneybreak Rd. in Bethel Township. Harry Oliver Bailey Jr., 58, was served with an arrest warrant Aug. 6 at 9:18 a.m.

Scrap Aluminum Stolen

A 57-year-old Warfordsburg man told McConnellsburg state police that 500 to 600 pounds of scrap aluminum were taken from outside his Brush Creek Township home at 2930 Moss Rd. The theft took place, state police reported, sometime between July 28 and July 30.

A 2008 Harley-Davidson sustained moderate damage after driver David Ash, 43, of Greencastle swerved to avoid a white-tailed deer as he drove north on state Route 522 in Needmore Monday afternoon. Ash was transported from the accident scene by Needmore Ambulance Co. McConnellsburg state police reported no further details.

Car’s Tires Sliced

An unknown actor sliced two tires of a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo belonging to Molly Jo Berkstresser, 23, of Mc- Connellsburg. The vehicle was parked in the parking area at the rear of the victim’s residence at 406 Lincoln Way East when the criminal mischief occurred between 8 p.m. July 28 and 6:50 a.m. July 29. Mc- Connellsburg state police are continuing their investigation.

Driver, Passengers Escape Burning Vehicle

The occupants of a 1995 Grand Prix escaped injury Tuesday after their car became engulfed in flames on the shoulder of Interstate 70’s eastbound lanes just west of Exit 158 in Brush Creek Township just after midnight.

McConnellsburg state police said driver Joshua M. Eichelberger, 49, Warfordsburg, heard the engine make a “popping” noise and saw smoke coming from under the car’s hood before pulling off the road and exiting the car along with passengers Jennifer A. Eichelberger, 28, and a 3-year-old child, both of Warfordsburg.

The driver, state police said, was charged with driving without a license. Drug Arrest At Facility Where Autistic Man Died

PENNDEL, Pa. (AP) –A counselor at the Pennsylvania facility where an autistic man died after being left in a hot van has been arrested on drug charges.

Bristol Township police say 34-year-old Uron Brinson of Trenton, N.J., sold $5,000 worth of cocaine in the parking lot of Woods Services on Friday to a police informant.

Police say Brinson also sold $1,120 in cocaine on July 26 in the parking lot of the special needs organization in Bucks County.

The 12-year employee at Woods Services is being held on $200,000 cash bail.

Bryan Nevins, a 20-yearold Woods Services resident with autism, died July 24 inside a van on a 97-degree day. Another counselor is charged in his death.

Plane Crashes Kills 2

SALINA, Pennsylvania (AP) –Authorities in western Pennsylvania say two bodies have been removed from the wreckage of a twinengine plane that crashed into a house, narrowly missing a man sleeping on a couch with his dog.

Westmoreland County spokesman Dan Stevens says the bodies were found after the plane was unearthed from the wreckage of the home in Bell Township in a rural section of the county about 90 miles (145 kilometers) northeast of Pittsburgh.

Stevens says officials believe only two people were aboard the aircraft. He says the county coroner is trying to identify the victims.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the BE58 Beech Baron took off from a regional airport in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, at 9:08 a.m. Saturday and crashed 11 minutes later, setting the house on fire.
