Donna R. Miller
Donna Rae Miller, 70, Artemas, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at her home.
She was born September 18, 1939, in Cumberland, Md., a daughter of the late Warren C. and Rhea V. (Potts) Smith. On August 21, 1956, in Winchester, Va., she married Ivan “Fuz” L. Miller.
Along with her husband she is survived by the following family: daughter Cheryl L., married to Norbert Sperlich, Clearville; sister Wanda L., married to Earl James Smith, Artemas; special cousin Bonnie Whitacre and three nieces and two nephews.
She was a member of Buck Valley Christian Church.
She and her husband owned and operated Miller Grocery in Purcell for several years. She later drove school van for 11 years for Cheryl Trans.
She was a member of Red Hat Society and a supporter of the Bedford County Humane Society. She was an undefeated stock car racing champion in the Powder Puff Division at the Roseland Speedway, Frostburg, and the South Penn Speedway, Everett. She was an avid NASCAR fan.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 4, at 1:00 p.m., in the Fairview Christian Church. Pastor Milton Morris, Pastor Bobby Layman and Pastor Fred Hendrickson officiated.
Akers Funeral Home, Everett, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was made at Fairview Cemetery, Artemas.
