Weight loss clinic doctors Matthew Davidson, Justin Rosenberger and Anuj Prashar announced Tuesday that their group, Central Pennsylvania Surgical Associates Ltd., will provide Lap-Band system surgery for patients at Fulton County Medical Center. Immediately following the Fulton County Medical Center medical staff meeting Tuesday, Central PA Surgical Associates Ltd. of Harrisburg announced it has chosen FCMC to perform the Lap-Band adjustable gastric banding system.

The Lap-Band adjustable gastric banding system reduces the amount of food that your stomach can hold at one time. This helps one gradually lose weight and keep it off. Performing thousands of cases, the Harrisburg-based group has one of the loweset complication rates in the nation. They have two centers of excellence already and hope for FCMC to become the third. There are only 14 centers of excellence currently statewide.

Central Penn Surgical Associates has been seeing patients at FCMC since November of 2006. Their patient case loads involve a wide variety of general surgery procedures, including various hernia repairs, gall baldder removal, diagnostic endoscopy, advanced laparoscopic and laparoscopic surgery. The group is excited to add bariatric banding. The physician practice consists of Medical Director Matthew Davidson, D.O., Luciana (Lou) DiMarco, D.O., F.A.C.O.S., Scot Currie, D.O., Anuj Prashar, D.O., Justin Rosenberger, D.O. and Jeffrey M. Small, D.O. They are available at the Specialty Services Building at 214 Peach Orchard Road, Mc- Connellsburg, every Monday and Thursday.
