For the second time in four weeks, Fulton County prisoners will be bedding down in a new jail – this time in Bedford County. Fulton County Commissioners decided to transfer the county’s two prisoners from the Franklin County Prison to the Bedford County Prison as of August 1.
A 17-year-old Martinsburg youth, who has been incarcerated in the Ebensburg juvenile detention center for more than a year, was sentenced in the Bedford County court on Friday, his 17th birthday, for the admitted shotgun slaying of former Fulton Countian Janita Kaye Hill, 16, also of Martinsburg on July 6, 1979. John Van Horn Jr. sentenced him to serve 2 1/2 to 6 years in the Camp Hill State Correctional Institute and to be placed on probation for another five years.
