A modified alternate shot on the front nine and a scramble format on the back nine was the format for Sunday’s Sadie Hawkins tournament that had 15 twosomes of men and women competing. Louanne Long and her partner, Jason Long, took home the top prize with a score of 77. Kena Richards and Tony Foreman’s 78 earned them second place and third place went to Deanna Everhart and partner Andrew Ritchey with an 81.

Another Great Cove member has recorded a hole in one. On Monday, Dexel Spencer, playing the 159- yard par-3 fourth hole with Larry Crouse Jr., Larry Custer and Bob Renehart, scored his ace with a Titleist Pro VI. Spencer’s hole in one is the second one this July. Tom King aced the same hole July 1.

Sue Mayhugh shot the winning low net score, a 30, in week 11 Ladies League competition July 21 at Great Cove. Following Mayhugh in second, with a net 33, was Deanna Everhart; third-place winners with 34s were Kay Wagner, Kim Sheeder, Pam Arnold and Cindy Blair.

Ladies League point leaders at the end of last week’s play are Kim Sheeder, 79; Cindy Blair 79; Deanna Everhart, 66; Kay Wagner, 57; Lois O’Donnell, 47; and Laura Blair, 46.

The Jim Ellis, Dave Pasi, Steve Forgas and Tim Brumbaugh team won the JLG Management Club scramble played recently at Great Cove. Second-place team winners were Tom Garner, Trinadh Bollimpalli, Jesse Sollers and Chad Greenwalt. Closest-to-thepin on No. 12 was won by Bud Bigler and No. 17’s longest-drive prize went to Jenny Mellott.

Men’s match play gets under way at Great Cove on Saturday with first round play, followed on Sunday with second round competition. Match play ends the following weekend with the third and final rounds.
